Q: How to Maximize my HP Notebook's Battery Charge by slowing Notebook processor's speed?
i read in this page that if i want to How to Maximize Your Notebook's Battery Charge http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01297640&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=3661525 the question is How to Maximize my HP Notebook's Battery Charge by slowing Notebook processor's speed

A: by default your laptop is set to throttle the processor frequency when not in use. You can adjust your power settings for this through the control panel in your start menu. Then simply look for power settings. Many laptops cut the processor speed in half when running on battery so as to save power. You can view this by right clicking my computer and then selecting properties. Then look at your cpu both plugged in and on battery.

Q: HP Notebook Battery efficiency?
I work on Hp pavillion notebook and from last week I've been observing that my battery pack gets exhausted very quickly though I use my system on Power Saver mode today I calculated the time and discovered that in just 40 min. it got completely exhausted from full charge state. this was not the case earlier and I purchased the same just one year ago. What can be the most probable cause for the same????

A: I have the Hp DV2000 Laptop. And I had to get a new power cord because the powercord was really flimsy. As for the battery I've noticed mine goes from 100% to off pretty quickly as well. And I just bought my laptop 9 months ago.I think it has to do with the fact that it's a smaller batter than in previous laptops.Sometimes you have to sacrifice some things for a lighter laptop. As time goes on[especially if your constantly plugging and unpluging the laptop] charging the battery isn't as efficient as it was when you purchased it. It's like rechargeable batteries. They only recharge a certain amount of time at full charge and eventually once you reach that recharging limit the batteries will take longer to charge and lose power much quicker. next time if your laptop needs to be unplugged keep it unplugged until it's close to dying and then plug it in.If it's still under warrenty[if it hasn't been a year since you purchased it] then contact HP and they can arrange to send you a box to send your laptop and replace the battery. good luck!

Q: Why won't my HP dv6000 notebook battery charge?
Signs and symptoms: My HP dv6000 notebook pc will always run when directly connected to a power cord, with or without battery. Not, when I plug it in with a battery, the battery indicator in Windows XP says it is plugged into the adapter and is running off AC power. However, it is rather scarce if/when it will charge. It just seems to be random. Now, the indicator light on the front. When plugged into AC power, it will not come on, but the one on the side does (indicating power is getting to the computer.) Also, when it does decide to charge, the charging indicator will light up on the front. Suggestions?

A: It sounds like your battery is, if not complety dead, dying. Go and get a new battery for it, and you should be good to go. One of my favorite sites for batteries is http://www.atbatt.com/

Q: I have a 6 cell &12 cell battery for my hp notebook , Can I switch when ones charge finishes?
I travel alot and I need the most out of my notebook! So say if I am on the road and my 6 cell battery charge is low and I can't charge it, can i just pop in my 12 cell battery?

A: You can't switch mid way when the laptop is on battery power, otherwise it will disconnect immediately plus you lose your work documents. If you had the laptop connected to the mains say in a hotel room, you can close the lid and flip out the battery to swap. Apart from that you should shut the lappy graciously and then change batteries and reboot. You lose 5 minutes between reboots/shutdown.

Q: Universal notebook battery for HP?
I can't seem to fin a single universal notebook battery for HP Pavilion DV6000 series... The most popular notebook battery is made by APC but does not support my laptop. I really want a universal battery. Thanks

A: I don't think you can get a universal laptop battery, but generic. Generic means is made by different companies, but made exactly as the brand ones. cheaper but the same capacities. Universal means something that will feet. those are the A/C adapters that come with different plug sizes. You should go to Tiger, or newegg to shop around for that battery.

A: You need to install the appropriate drivers for vista. You may download them from HP's website under the support>drivers and download. The drivers should be categorized under power management or Battery. Only then you may see your battery levels in vista
