Q: Best Laptop/Notebook for College? Lenovo IdeaPad? Toshiba? HP-Business?
I've been researching for a laptop for a few months now. I orginally really wanted to get a Macbook, either higher or lower end (didn't really matter), but with 2 GB RAM (that's the main thing I'm interested in). I have been leaning away from that idea because I would just be using windows anyway. I was willing to spend the extra money because the virus risk was so low. But I figured I would just get a decent security program...I was referred to look at Toshiba, HP-Business, and Lenovo ThinkPad computers. I am recently interested in a Lenovo IdeaPad Y510(59012698) Intel Core 2 Duo T5450(1.66GHz) 15.4" Wide XGA 2GB Memory 160GB HDD Dual layer DVD Burner Intel GMA X3100 NoteBook. I'm not too sure about the others. I mainly want a reliable laptop with Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint. It's just for writing papers, nothing too fancy like arcitecture or something. I am kind of nervous about the Vista system but I'll just have to deal with it if I'm getting a Windows based computer.
A: Hi the laptops that you mentioned are all reasonable choices. Most people are going to give you their opinion based on what if affordable for them, not what is best for you. As a college student, i think that the Toshiba is an excellent choice. Ive been through HP's and Toshibas. They have both proven reliable but for some reason, Toshibas are more sturdy. I think thats an important factor to take into consideration, you know, soda near the laptop a knock here a bump there...i hope this helps you decide.
Q: i have a hp tablet notebook and a business owned it before... they gave me the username and password...?
but i cant remember it and for some reason it could have got changed... i dont know what to do is there some way that i can get on somehow and change the password and username?
A: no i dont think so why dont you call the business u got it from and try there password
Q: I am in the market for a PC Notebook. Is HP or Dell the better company to do business with?
A: I have had problems with both companies. And of course, with large companies there is always the potential to get lost in the fray, abused, or forgot about.
That said, I have had better experiences with HP (especially since they seem more willing to replace parts, easier to get ahold of, and more willing to send technicians out when necessary)

Here's the link for the lap-top:

Also, if you find any remarkable advantages/disadvantages about the laptop, please tell me. Thanks very much
A: 2GB of RAM will do pretty much anything you require. You better double check your link though, because that one only has 1GB of RAM. It is listed as 2GB max...
Q: Help with wi-fi plz! ok so im trying to connect my hp notebook through my wireless modem, but ...?
ok so when i first installed the modem to my desktop the wireless connection to my notebook worked just fine, but after setting up a secure network (password enabled) i could no longer wirelessly connect to the net using my notebook. My Macbook and desktop connection work just fine but my hp notebook connection is not working. AFter typing in the password this is what comes up:
"The Network password needs to be 40bits or 104 bits depending on your network configuration this can be answered as 5 or 13 ascii characters or 10 0r 26 hexadecimal characters."
Ive tried getting tech support from the routers 1800-tech support # but after several attepmts the rep. just gave up.
HELP PLZ! this is urgent business! thnks.
A: Sounds like an Encryption error, verify that you are using the same version of the Encryption: WEP, WPA, WPA2 on both sides. So if you are using WPA on your wireless router, then make sure when you setup your laptop to choose WPA.
