Q: what do i do about a lot of pop ups on my dell inspiron notebook laptop?
i am about to begin classes again and these pop ups are getting annoying. i want a free solution but isn't there something i can do with my firewall or something with the set up of my dell?
A: just download the free google Internet browsing bar , and it will block all the pop ups u hate ! good luck with your lessons.
Q: Can you install Windows on a Linux Dell Notebook/Laptop?
Windows xp specifically.

A: Yep. You need to create a new partition. The new partition will act as the "windows" machine. You can find a software program either free or cheap called "partition magic" that will be a gui to help you through the process. Or you will have to find your flavor of Linux's commands for the new partitioning. I have installed Linux on a Windows machine by doing that very thing; so I would have to believe you can install Windows on a Linux machine. Of courxe I was using SuSE linux.

I want to purchase a dell laptop notebook but the one I'm looking at right now is the model no. D66. I would like to know if this is a good purchase or is it out of date already?
A: Gateway used to run a TV commercial where this guy is driving home from the computer store with his brand-new state-of-the-art "G5" computer sitting in the seat beside him. He looks up and sees a billboard advertising the "All NEW G6!"
It's almost that bad. By the time you get it home from the store, there's already something better available. You can spend a fortune trying to stay up to date on the latest and greatest.
I advise people to buy the cheapest machine that will do what they want, with the idea that a couple of years down the road, they'll do the same thing again. Spending big bucks on a computer does NOT mean it won't become outdated just as quickly as the cheap ones - it just means it will cost you more when it does.
Q: I need a new dell laptop/notebook?
I have a 1,000 gift card to dell.com. I want a new notebook. I am willing to spend a couple hundred dollars more than 1,000. I need a big screen and I will use it for auto-cad and internet. I don't need it for music or games. Thank You.

A: Is it a PC card? If it's a bus card, you can only use it in a desktop computer. Bus cards are usually green, have a row of copper or silver colored metal "fingers" along one edge, and are about 6 inches long.
If you have a PC card, there is a set of slots on the laptop, often on the right or left sides, where the card in inserted. You may have to install the software first.
Q: Which Dell laptop/notebook should I purchase for college?
I will be attending college for my undergraduate degree, and I was wondering which notebook would be best. I would like to buy a Dell, and have a budget of about $900 to $1200. I will mostly use the notebook for word processing and the internet. I really won't be using the notebook to play games, watch DVD's, or burn CD's and DVD's.
A: okay ..first things first... List down the requirements why you need a laptop. Since you are going to go to college with it, go for a small size and light notebook. a 12 inch screen laptop (with around 4.5 Lbs) would be ideal for you. A: You can run a laptop without the battrey with the ac adapter for as long a needed. I have a docking staion and its always unless i need to go mobile.

I am in the market for a new laptop or notebook. I would prefer a Dell. I would be using it for office and home. I am looking for a 17in screen with HD and a lot of memory.
