Q: Will a notebook graphics card designed for a dell work in a toshiba?
I need to upgrade my grahpics card in my notebook computer and I'm looking for one on ebay. Most of the cards there are from Dell notebooks, and I want to know if it is compatible with my computer. If not, where would I go to find a graphics card I could use?
A: Do the research by: Getting the part number from the Dell chip, then go to Toshiba site and try to fit your laptop with a card, if the numbers match your in luck. Other sites to visit are

Q: I have a e1505 dell notebook. Any problem with buying another hard drive and running a different OS from it?
Ok, so I have this notebook running Vista and I want to buy another hard drive so I can run XP on it for 2 reasons:
1) Games that I want to play run a lot faster on XP and some don't work at all on Vista
2) I bought and installed Vista on my own and so I can't get support for my computer through the dell service plan unless I'm running software bought through dell. Basically, if I have any problems I can avoid any non-coverage b/c of third-party software issues. I still have the XP restore disk I got when I bought the computer. Only problem with this (assuming I can do this) is getting rid of all of dell's crappy bloatware.
So, any problems with doing this, just want to know before I spend $100 for the drive.
A: If you have enough space on you current hard drive you could just partition it to do a dual boot of xp and vista. But if you are planning to install a lot of games I guess it would be okay to go ahead and buy the extra space. Either one works.
Q: I cannot start my dell notebook computer orange lights?
I cannot start my dell notebook computer I get lines on the screen then all black, any ideas maybe the video card ?
A: Call Dell Tech Support if the laptop is still under warranty - sounds like motherboard issues.
Q: I want to sell my dell notebook and by a tablet does anyone know how I can go about that?
I really want a Tablet PC, about four years ago I bought a dell notebook. The notebook is fine it works extremely well is an inspiron E 1505. I want to sell my dell notebook and buy a tablet does anyone know how I can go about that?
A: You go here and get a worth price of your computer and then you can sell it. Now keep in mind though your computer maybe in great condition, you will not be able to sell it for what you paid for it. Computer have upgrade since then. Or if you can sell it right to a manufacture and use that money towards new one. I did that with one of my old laptops, worked out real well for me.

Q: Dial up connection on Dell Notebook? How do I turn it off?
I have a Dell Notebook (Windows XP if it makes a difference) and the setting got changed from something else (which worked) to Dial up (dosn't work). My laptop is not connected to a phone, so of course it wont work. How can i change it back. My internet no longer works. Please help me. My computer is screwed up.
A: Hi
Click Start, Connect To,Show all Connections and see if your connection is there if it is right click and enable it if it is disabled.
I cant quite understand what our saying dial up is a connection direct to a phone line. Broadband/adsl is connected to your computer by a modem, either wireless (by network card inside the computer or one you have to slide in yourself or an adapter which fits into usb port) or cable (Ethernet )which connects into the back of your computer from the modem. So exactly what have you got.
Come back!!

Q: How do I fix a sensitive left-click button (that maybe broken) on a Dell notebook?
My Dell XPS M140 notebook's left-click button has seemingly been broken and very sensative to the touch. I used to be able to keep my finger on the left-click button until I wanted to click something, but now it takes little to no pressure to actually click something. Meanwhile, it seems like under the right-click button there's something keeping it up slightly until I put real pressure on there and want to push down to click something. My left-click button used to be like this. Is there something I can do (like pop something back into place) to fix it without having to send it to Dell? Thanks.
A: Is the computer still under warranty? Call up Dell and explain the situation.

Q: Is there a way to change my DVD Region on my Dell Inspirion Notebook?
Hey guys I need your help desperately, I currently have a dell inspirion notebook, before i was able to change the dvd region to watch dvd's from america and canada because they were region 1, now when i put in the dvd it asks me to change the region but when i do im unable to do it, it would say number of times allowed to change is 0. Just wondering is there a way to unlock this? Or would i need to get some kind of software to be able to watch dvd region 1 on my laptop?
A: what does this have to do with food?
Q: How do I install a replacement screen on my Dell Inspiron notebook?
My Dell Inspiron notebook has a broken screen. Well, I don't see anything crack or scratch, but the pixels are dead... according to a tech savvy friend of mine. I connected it to a projector and it was working fine, so I know there's nothing wrong with the rest of the computer.
I can't afford a replacement. This one is not old enough for me to do that just yet. How do I save money on one? Is e-bay a good source? What's an inverter? How difficult is it to replace on one's own, limited tech knowledge considered?
A new screen from an online store costs ~$300
A: I have the same problem with my Mac. I dropped it and ruined the screen (half is black the other half is fine). I took it to the Apple store and they said it would cost like a grand to fix. I ended up buying a new one, but I would love to fix the old one. Good question!!! and good luck!
Q: Does anyone know which Dell notebook is better, the Inspiron 1501 or the new Inspiron 1521?
Hi,
I am trying to pick a laptop to buy and both of the Dell ones mentioned above are the same price. There are very good reviews on the Dell website for the Inspiron 1501 but none yet for the Inspiron 1521. Does anyone know anything?
A: the dell 1501 because of a couple of reasons. For the same $599 price. the 1501 comes with 40 gb more hard drive space (this means more photo and music space) and the better and faster (IMHO) Windows XP for people who are not computer experts. Vista is nice but requires some getting used to and works with less stuff at the moment.
