A: Mine has been very good for about 2 years. Some wear on the keypad and a letter tile had to be replaced. HP-Compaq is the number one seller of LTs by far.
Q: How can I print screen on my compaq laptop?
I know this is weird because I've tried prt sc button holding alt, control, shift, and everything and then pasting it on paint but that doesn't work at ALL! and i KNOW this keyboard works.
the key i'm using says "insert" and then below that word there is a little box and it says "prt sc" inside the box. the computer must think that I'm trying to insert, and not print screen because there are two functions on one key! if you have a compaq notebook laptop, you would know what I'm talking about.
but seriously, nothing works. even if i press the prt sc alone. whoever replies with a working answer first will get rewarded the best answer =]

A: You may have to hold the function button (Fn Key which should be located somewhere on the bottom part of the keyboard). Then you should be able to paste it in paint.

Q: How do I connect my Compaq C502US laptop/notebook to the internet (not dial-up)?
I just recently ordered a Compaq C502US online and I really have no idea what I have to do to connect it to the internet once it arrives. It has a Network Card: Integrated 10/100BASE-T Ethernet LAN (RJ-45 connector) and also the Wireless Option: 802.11b/g WLAN. I have Clearwire Wireless Broadband (www.clearwire.com) for my Desktop. Now it seems like I need to get a Wireless Router to plug into that and I'll be good to go. What do you all think? Is the Wireless Router all I'll need or do I even need that? I appreciate any help I can get! :-)
A: All you need is a wireless router.
If you get a wireless router, keep in mind that there are tons of security features you need to be aware off in order to be safe.

Q: i just got a new compaq notebook laptop and im having problems with the internet.?
i can acces the yahoo page only through my messenger.the internet explorer wont open msn or any other pages unless i go through the yahoo search engine.i set yahoo as my homepage but when i open a fresh window,IE refuses to open any page.the windows messenger also wont download.norton has been installed by default.is that whats causing the problems.i know theres nothing wrong with the internet connection because it works fine on my dads laptop.
A: Norton Firewall might not be allowing the network connections to go through. If you right click on the Norton Icon or open the Norton Centre, try with disabling the firewall.
After this you will be able to access the internet. Once this is tested, ensure that your network is allowed (Trusted) by Norton. Use the Wizard to set things nicely.

Q: How good of a laptop is the compaq amd turion64 notebook?
Interested to know how well this laptop will preform with downloading music,making dvd's saving pictures ect.Also how well will it process video online,my home computer sucks it's all choppy .The laptop im referirng to has a 80gb hard drive 512 mbddr2 memory and is 1.8 ghz.
A: All the statistics you have listed about a computer are good! The only thing I can warn you about as Compaq does not honor their warranty! They also have the worst customer service, I have ever experienced in my life! My only advice when it comes to Compaq computers is buyer beware!
Q: Memory upgrade on compaq Vista laptop notebook...?
I have just 'clipped' in the additional memory upgrade of 1GB into the slot, but my notebook is failing to recognise it - either autmoatically or via the wizard.
Do I need to remove the 512 memory, or should the 2 be able to run in tandem together???
Am a little bit stuck...any help would be great.
A: It may vary well be set up for dual channel. If that is the case you will have to take out the 512 and replace it with a 1GB. What model PC do you have?

A: Just the fact that the backlight goes on and off for no reason points to a hardware problem. Even if you have the brightness dimmed all the way it should never look like that-laptop lcd's are built to always be on to some degree, but never be off unless laptop is turned off or lid is shut.
I would say your backlights are fine, but the small board embeded within the base of the LCD that converts the voltage to a usable charge may be malfunctioning. Email me the make and model of your laptop. I can find the backlite spare parts on the net and give you the web address. You can take this information to a PC Repair store and tell them to order the part and replace it.

A: You need to add more RAM. Take it to any computer shop, and ask them to add more RAM to your computer, upgrade to at least 1GB, to avoid problems in the future, it'll cost u about $60-$100 most likely.

A: Don't buy Compaq. I have Compaq from P3 and P4. and it's all SUCKS !!!!
Specially in LCD lid and Optical Drive.
Try to get Acer or Toshiba or any brand with 3 years warranty.
